I just edited some files together that had been on my harddrive since a few months, and which I never used. I filmed almost all of them with old nikon lenses from the 1980s

Cinematic D.O.F. Depth of Field Effect: NikonD90 (D-Movie function / D90-Video) with Nikkor 85 mm 1.8 AF-D. High Definition 720p. Increased contrast, color correction, unsharp mask and just treating MPJEG like a photo.
Technique whores:
Lenses = Sigma 10-20mm and Nikkor 50mm 1.4
1) Turn AE-Lock function on to stop the crappy banding and exposure changes throughout the image
2) Use a tripod

I shot this with only one candle. Just to check out the lowlight capabilities of the D90, Nikon 35mm F1.4 lens. Also I had the camera balanced on a jellybean container so the shot bounces around a bit.

This is a camera test with the new Nikon D90. It was shot in Richmond Virginia around sunset September 7 2008. Movie settings were at “Normal” – 640 x 424. The camera also has HD settings – 1280 x 720! For most of the shooting – Shutter 50 / F3.5 & F5.6/ lens between 18 – 105mm.
