A short video on some of my Think Tank Gear, and how it all fits on the Pro Speed Belt. I have found them all to be excellent products, and I would recommend them. Shows the Digital Holster 40, LC 75 Pop Down Lens Case, the Lens Changer 15, and the Pro Speed Belt. Shot with my NikonD90.
Steve Miller visits from Ikelite and demonstrates the features of Ikelite’s Digital SLR Underwater Camera Housing. Ikelite builds Underwater Camera Housings for the most popular Digital cameras on the market like the NikonD90 and others.
Which lenses would you recommend for the Nikon D90? I’m an amateur, mainly doing Senior pictures, families, portraits, and small weddings. I’d really like to purchase the camera and 2 lenses for under $1800 if possible. Also, where would you recommend purchasing? I was going to go to Best Buy because I’m fearful of getting screwed online but I’m open to buying online if you’ve had good experiences. Thank you in advance!
80-200mm VR & 50mm f/1.8 (or 50mm 1.4 G or D)?
80-105mm VR & 70-300mm VR?
Other suggestions? Won’t be buying much after this for awhile so need something that will last awhile for my purposes.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! VERY HELPFUL! With your input it looks like I’m going to go with the Nikon 80-200mm VR lens and the Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF lenses with a Nikon D90 for now. I think this will be a good start. I’m also leaning toward eventually getting the SB 600 flash. Think this flash will work okay for my purposes or would I need to save up for the SB 800? Thanks again to you all!
For $1800 budget I would suggest get Nikon D90 with Nikon 18-200mm VR LEns which is a great all around lens for both wide, zoom and Ken Rockwell calling it "the world’s best portrait lens"

or another good choice is get Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lens kit

and get additional Nikon 85mm f/1.8D, great portrait lens.

I want to buy the Nikon D90. I have 2 choices:
1_Nikon D90 w/18-55mm VR + 55-200mm VR
2_Nikon D90 with 18-105mm VR Lens Kit
Both are currently AU$1749
I will be doing various type of photography. Like landscape, portrait, food photography, some sports and may be wild life if I get the time.
Last month in April they were more than $2000 (2200-2449) and this month they are that price. So I am thinking of waiting till next month which is June, they might get even cheaper so I can buy some extra accessories with it as well.
Which one should I buy? And
Is it a good idea to wait till next month?
I am thinking what if they change their mind and raise the price.
I will be buying it from TS Camera House OR Paxtons.
If you guys know any better shop tell me.
I live in Sydney Australia.
If I buy from amazon.com or any other websites. Is it safe.
In amazon it says $979. are they talking about US dollar.
The Nikon D90 w/18-200mm VR lens kit is AU$2449.
Too expensive for me right now.
Since I don’t have enough cash for the this kit. I would buy the camera with OK lens and buy the good one later.
Do the reseller reduce the price of their lenses when they sale it as a kit. Or they just add the lens price to the body only price.
I live in Sydney.
Will the price drop at the beginning of june or at the end of june?
Go for the first one if that is your limit. Be careful though, prices are already starting to drop with this "depression" many camera prices will drop dramatically at the end of next month as the close of the financial years approaches. A lot are already falling in Brisbane. (Not sure where you are.)
I need to go pick-up some lens tissue paper…or should I get cloth? What else should I get (cleaning/maintenance)? As you can already tell, I’m not a pro. Just shoot for fun.
Well that is certinly a nice camera for fun!!
congrats to you sir!
heres what you need: http://www.amazon.com/PECA-Products-Digital-Cleaning-DC-401/dp/B00012BZI8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262822609&sr=1-1
you should also get a Hoya UV filter for protection… or a Lens hood.

My boyfriend is a photographer. He had accidents with the two lenses he already had, he had a big lens and a small lenses, i dont know their measurements or resolutions..in fact i don’t know much about anything when it comes to professioncal cameras..so could anyone please let me know the different types of lenses for this camera? NikonD90? I’m looking to maybe getting him at least the small lens for a christmas gift, I’m sure he’d love that. thanks.
Most guys have a very specific wish list. So, unless he tells you what he wants, it is best to ask him or give him money for a lens.
